This is an 8 hour, objective-based, NRA Instructor-Led course that consists of the following topics: Part I: Safety -The Basics and Firearm Storage Part II: Knowing Your Pistol -Semi-Automatic/Revolver Parts, How They Work, Operation, Ammunition Fundamentals and Cartridges Part III: Building Pistol Shooting Skills -Fundamentals of Shooting and Shooting Positions, Shooting Errors, Clearing Common Pistol Stoppages Part IV: Pistol Maintenance, Selection and Use -Cleaning/Maintenance of Pistol, Pistol Selection/Ammunition/Accessories NOTE: All students are required to display knowledge, skills and the proper mindset to own/operate a pistol in a safe and skillful manner. You will also need to pass the qualification shooting standard (Level 1: Red) at 10 feet while shooting at the NRA Basic Pistol Achievement Target.
